Questions marina operators ask before they switch
BerthRight is white-label marina management software with one flat monthly fee, starting at $50 per month and scaled by slip or storage count. No commissions and no paid add-ons. The limits are stated here in the same words as the rest of the site.
How much does BerthRight marina software cost?
BerthRight costs one flat monthly subscription. It starts at $50 per month and scales with your marina's maximum slip or storage count, whichever is higher. That fee covers the whole software suite. There's no setup fee, no per-seat charge, and BerthRight adds no per-transaction fee. Tell us your slip and storage counts and we'll give you your exact number.
Does BerthRight take a commission on reservations?
No. BerthRight isn't a booking marketplace and takes no percentage of your reservations. Payments go through your own Stripe account, so Stripe's standard card or ACH processing fee is the only per-payment cost.
Are there paid add-ons or higher tiers to unlock features?
No. Every module is included in the one subscription: slip map, reservations, contracts and e-signature, billing, point of sale, work orders, launch and haul, land storage, customer portal and messaging. We turn on the modules your marina actually runs, and none of them cost extra.
Will my customers see BerthRight's name or my marina's?
Your marina's. The admin app and customer portal carry your logo, brand colours, font and login background. Receipts and portal mail show your marina name, and your marina runs at its own branded subdomain such as yourmarina.berthright.app. The one exception is one-time sign-in codes, which still come from BerthRight.
Can I use my own domain or send email from my marina's email address?
No. Each marina runs on a branded subdomain such as yourmarina.berthright.app. Custom domains aren't offered, and outbound email isn't sent from your own email domain. Mail shows your marina name, and one-time sign-in codes come from BerthRight.
Can BerthRight handle both seasonal slip holders and transient boaters?
Yes. Seasonal reservations carry contracts, installment schedules and batch renewals. Transient is a dedicated module with its own availability and blackout dates. Both draw from the same slip inventory, so a transient booking can't double-book a seasonal slip. A waitlist captures demand when you're full.
Can boaters sign contracts and pay online without downloading an app?
Yes. Contracts go out as secure single-use signing links that open in any browser, with no account needed. Slip holders can also use your branded customer portal to e-sign, pay invoices by card or ACH, save a payment method, request service and message the office.
How do we move off our current system or spreadsheets?
Migration is concierge. During onboarding we import your customers, vessels and slips from a spreadsheet or CSV at no extra cost, and you can set up a full dock of slips in one click.
Does it cover the boatyard side: work orders, launch and haul, storage?
Yes. Work orders track operations, parts, labour and engine hours from estimate to invoice. Customers can request service online. Launch and haul scheduling and land or rack storage are built-in modules that are billed and reported alongside slips.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. Billing is month to month and you can cancel at any time. Staff accounts are unlimited, so adding dock or office staff never raises your bill.
Who builds BerthRight?
BerthRight is built by Thomas (TJ) Heist, who has run a marina since 2014. He started it because he was paying premium prices for software that didn't match his marina's brand. Early customers work directly with the founder and the developers building the platform.
